Character Map
Spell out selected text character by character, so you can read it aloud without mistakes.
Select some text, such as gqs786igfd87y23%REYbh, and click the button. A page opens in your browser showing every character as a numbered tile:
- Colour-coded by type: capitals blue, lower case green, digits purple, symbols orange, spaces grey, each with a text badge as well
- The NATO phonetic word for each letter (ROMEO for a capital, romeo for lower case), and spoken names for digits and symbols
- Numbered across the whole string, in groups of four
- Easily confused characters (l, 1, I, O, 0) marked with ⚠
Read-out mode
Press Space or → to step through the characters one at a time, ← to go back, and Esc to start again, or click any tile to jump to it. The current tile is highlighted, tiles you've read fade, and a counter shows your progress.
Privacy
Everything happens on your Mac. The page is written to a temporary file, opened, and deleted 30 seconds later. Nothing is sent anywhere.
